SCAMP is is a powerful MATLAB GUI developed by Duane Carbon and Harry Idehara, to inspect large numbers of infrared spectra from ISO. It allows one to quickly and very efficiently intercompare and group large numbers of spectra. In the GUI tool, the user can scale, shift and normalize spectra, measure and record features, make spline fits, annotate and save spectrum comparisons, move quickly from spectral region to spectral region, etc. It's a tool which we have used to great advantage in our work on the ISO SWS spectra. SCAMP has allowed us to find interesting molecular features that have gone unnoticed in all the years the ISO spectra have been available. We have tried to make SCAMP very general so that it can be used on any spectrum dataset, including laboratory spectra. We are currently making arrangements for its public release.
