I now have an official piece of information on GUSS from the program. Based on my discussions with the GUSS program it is not correct to include it as a turnkey package. It is an autonomy surrogate for the ITV. We are interested in including what I call Flexibly Manned Vehicles (FMVs) which are platforms large enough to carry 2-4 Marines or to operate autonomously in the distributed ops/logistic mode. Given that, I would ask for you to include the following FMV options in your studies as appropriate: (1) A Mudd-ox with an autonomy/sensor package roughly equivalent to what will be on the GUSS in LOE 4.0 in FY 10.http://muddox.net/Home.html (2) A Growler ITV with an autonomy/sensor package roughly equivalent to what will be on the GUSS in LOE 4.0 in FY 10.: Note that the GUSS option is now gone. You will note that the Mudd-ox is amphibious.
