cartoons frequently make strong factual, value, causal and policy claims. As
you watch my slide show on gun control, take notes on all the claims these
cartoonists are making, factual, value and policy, as well as causal claims,
and how effectively or ineffectively they use the rhetorical appeals of logos, ethos and pathos.
Choose the two best and the two worst to discuss in detail on line
and in class.
Follow these instructions to access
the Power Point slide show:

Click the above link.

Click on "Pick Application" in the resulting window.
(This one may be unnecessary for future viewings.)

Click on "OK" to select default "mime"
application. (This one may also be unnecessary, hereafter.)
·
Your system may generate a warning about opening up strange files. If it
does, click on "Open It."

Start the show by clicking on the "slide projector" icon in
the lower, left-hand corner of your screen. (It's labeled "Slide
Show.")
·
Click navigational icons to move to
the next or previous screen and to move through the entire presentation.
·
Close the application, and return to this Lesson by clicking the top "X" in the
upper, right-hand corner of your screen.
