Claims Power Point Presentation

Editorial cartoons frequently make strong factual, value, causal and policy claims. As you watch my slide show on gun control, take notes on all the claims these cartoonists are making, factual, value and policy, as well as causal claims, and how effectively or ineffectively they use the rhetorical appeals of logos, ethos and pathos.

Choose the two best and the two worst to discuss in detail on line and in class.

Follow these instructions to access the Power Point slide show:

·  Click the above link.

·  Click on "Pick Application" in the resulting window. (This one may be unnecessary for future viewings.)

·  Click on "OK" to select default "mime" application. (This one may also be unnecessary, hereafter.)

·  Your system may generate a warning about opening up strange files. If it does, click on "Open It."
