Established as a not-for-profit organisation in June 2010, QELI is owned jointly by the Department of Education and Training, Queensland Catholic Education Commission and Independent Schools Queensland.QELI chair Steve Paul said the institute would act as a professional learning developer and broker, building strong relationships with education stakeholders and collaborative research initiatives 'To ensure QELI's programs are of an internationally recognised standard, the institute will work closely with stakeholders, universities and organisations such as the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership,' Mr Paul said. 'It will provide programs including structured leadership development and mentoring, intensive leadership courses, online forums and e-learning materials. QELI is set to make an important difference to the lives of young Queenslanders.'
